JOANNA CAPPUCCILLI LOVETTI

Ms. Lovetti is an Emmy winning filmmaker who lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. After a short teaching career, she began her film journey in Sound Editing on The Empire Strikes Back. She enjoyed working at the Bay Area based Lucasfilms for two years, before moving to Los Angeles. Once in the renowned film capital, she became a successful Film Editor. Her editing filmography is extensive. It includes theatrical features such as 2010, Running Scared, and ‘Til There Was You. Among her prestigious television credits are: Thirtysomething, My So-Called Life, I’ll Fly Away and The Sopranos. Ms. Lovetti has the unique distinction of having edited 10 pilots, significantly contributing to the pick-up of 8 one-hour series.

Between editing jobs, she has written ten spec scripts. She launched into directing with the one-hour drama Felicity. After twenty-three years in the film business, Ms. Lovetti has earned the reputation of being associated with quality project and talented filmmakers.

She joined forces with Dick Clark, successfully pitching The Jackie Wilson Story to Showtime, who paid her to write the script for a made-for-cable movie. She enjoys membership in the Director’s Guild (DGA), Writer’s Guild (WGAw), and the Editor’s Guild (EGA).
